Solutions for exotic materials used in shell-and-tube heat exchangers

To withstand extreme process conditions, it is essential to choose the right materials for the job. With extensive R&D facilities, our own materials laboratory and vast expertise in materials selection, Alfa Laval can recommend the optimal materials for Olmi shell-and-tube heat exchangers based on your operating conditions and process media.

Broad range of exotic materials

For corrosion and fatigue resistance, Alfa Laval Olmi shell-and-tube heat exchangers can be manufactured in a full range of non-ferrous metals. These include high nickel alloys, copper alloys, aluminium and urea-grade metals, including titanium and zirconium. These are excellent choices to handle high temperatures and pressures due to the material’s high strength-to-weight ratios, high thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Cleanroom manufacturing for optimal quality and performance

For unmatched excellence in workmanship, all Olmi shell-and-tube heat exchangers in these materials are fabricated and pressure tested in a dedicated clean room under controlled atmosphere. Clean room facilties are available for manufacturing Olmi shell-and-tube heat exchangers with an overall working area of 900 m2.
